The Province of Bataan for the second time bagged the most coveted “Most Business Friendly LGU”, given by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for 2021. A non-government association of private businesses that works to influence government action on issues on agriculture, information technology, human resource and tourism, PCCI said that despite the pandemic, Bataan headed by Gov. Abet Garcia was able to work on its goal of streamlining and re-engineering government processes and even enforcing zero-contact through accessible govt online transactions and mandatory electronic-business one-stop-shop.
PCCI also said that Gov. Garcia not only have established good working relationship with the business community but have laid also the groundwork on the “Ease of Doing Business Law” authored by his brother, Cong. Joet Garcia of the 2nd District of Bataan.
Gov. Garcia stressed that the very reason why “The Bunker”, the new capitol building was constructed is to have a one-stop-shop that will facilitate business transactions such as securing business permits, passports, and others under one roof which is mandated by the law on the Ease of Doing Business.
The good governor reiterated that he is committed in the delivery of improved services to the people, for he believes that these are important in the continuing economic progress that will translate into providing better lives for the people of Bataan.
PCCI thanked Gov. Garcia for further developing the business environment and industry of Bataan despite the pandemic and that they value the dedication set by Gov. Garcia in the preparations and final presentation of the entry. It will be remembered that Bataan first won the “Most Business-Friendly LGU” in 2017.
